Coaxial and Runout Tolerances
This unit 13 examines coaxial and runout-related geometric controls and their functional differences. Students will compare position, circular runout, total runout, concentricity, and profile tolerances as they apply to rotational features.
Emphasis is placed on understanding the functional intent behind each control, inspection implications, and appropriate application in design. Upon completion, students will be able to select and apply the correct coaxial control to ensure proper performance in rotating assemblies.
