Advanced Position Tolerances
This unit 12 advances positional tolerancing knowledge through application-based calculations and design strategies. Students will learn floating and fixed fastener formulas, understand rectangular, conical, and spherical tolerance zones, and calculate positional boundaries.
The unit also covers continuous features, composite position tolerancing, and functional paper gage calculations used in inspection and assembly validation. By the end of the unit, students will be proficient in solving complex positional tolerance problems and applying them to functional assemblies.
